Experienced individuals such as technicians, scientists, facility supervisors and managers, and or regulators, who have assigned duties or responsibilities related to management of hazardous materials and wastes.

Course Registration and Cost:To facilitate meaningful course participation, only a limited number of registrants will be accepted, so please register early. The deadline for course registration is two weeks prior to each scheduled course date (please also note exam application deadlines described below). If a sufficient number of course registrations are not received by then, the course will be subject to cancellation.

Cancellation:
Registrants who cannot attend should notify the respective CHMM registrar contact at least ten working days before the course starts, and they will refund your fee. Cancellations received later than ten days before the workshop are subject to a forfeiture of up to the full fee.
If an adequate number of registrants are not obtained ten days prior to the workshop, the course may be cancelled and your registration fee will be refunded or can be applied to a future CHMM Workshop.
Accommodations:
Your enrollment confirmation will include hotel/motel information. At the time of enrollment, please indicate if you are a person with disability and desire special accommodations. Requests will be kept confidential.
Continuing Education Credit:
Each participant successfully completing the CHMM Overview Course workshop can earn 2.4 Continuing Education Units (CEU). The American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) will grant 3.0 IH certification maintenance (CM) points for successful completion per approval #15268.
IMPORTANT CERTIFICATION EXAMINATION INFORMATION:
NOTE: Sitting for the Certification Exam is optional, however exam applications must be filed at least 6 weeks in advance.
Examination Dates: The Examination is scheduled for the afternoon of the third day of instruction. "You Must Register Separately to take the Exam with the IHMM"
Examination Prerequisites:
The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) applies the following standards in its review of applications for eligibility to take the examination:
Senior Level Certification: Attainment of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in a subject area related to hazardous materials management/engineering, and three years of appropriate experience including responsibility for developing, implementing, managing, or evaluating one or more program activities relating to hazardous materials management. Or, eleven years of management/engineering experience without a baccalaureate degree also qualifies for senior level certification.
Master's Level Certification: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in a subject area related to hazardous materials management/ engineering and seven years of appropriate experience including responsibility for developing, implementing, directing, or evaluating one or more program activities relating to hazardous materials management.
Exam Application and Cost:
All candidates for the examination must file an application with IHMM at least six weeks in advance of the respective exam date. The IHMM will evaluate qualifications to "sit" for the examination and will so notify candidates.
