About The Course

Master the ISO 14001 process for environmental management systems (EMS) with the 14 comprehensive lessons provided in this new self-study course. Based on Government Institutes' ISO 14001: Positioning Your Organization for Environmental Success, written by best-selling author W.M. Von Zharen, this course provides you with a roadmap to an effective environmental management system. You learn how to begin the EMS process, identify your organization's significant environmental aspects and impacts, write an environmental policy, plan your program and implement it. You also learn how to check its effectiveness, undertake corrective action, and ensure proper management review. Lessons, exercises and review quizzes also cover auditing an EMS, certifying your EMS with a third-party registrar, and measuring the costs and benefits of an EMS. Moreover, through a series of case studies, you learn from the real-world experiences of other organizations who have developed successful programs adhering to the ISO 14001 standard. Your course instructor is available by e-mail or fax to respond to your questions as you proceed through the lessons.

Students who successfully complete the Master Exam at the conlusion of the course, earn continuing education credits and a Certificate of Achievement from RTI and ABS Consulting/Government Institutes.
